In the recently released ranking by Webometrics in July 2024, Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. finished 135th place among the Philippines’ top institutions, while securing sixth place in the Davao region.
This is a big leap made by JMCFI from the previous ranking (July 2023) of 190th place.
All other colleges and universities from the Davao region that made it to the top 10 are Ateneo de Davao University, University of Mindanao, University of the Philippines – Mindanao, University of Southeastern Philippines, University of Immaculate Conception, Davao del Norte State College, Cor Jesu College, Holy Cross of Davao College, and Davao Medical School Foundation.
Based on the indicators set by Webometrics, VISIBILITY (Web contents) contributes to the impact number of external networks (subnets) linking to the institution’s webpages (normalized averaged value is chosen). It weighs 50% of the total metrics. The second indicator is TRANSPARENCY (or OPENNESS). This refers to top-cited researchers or the number of citations from the Top 310 authors on Google Scholar profiles. This takes 1p% of the chunk while EXCELLENCE (or SCHOLAR), the third indicator, means the top-cited papers, or the number of papers amongst the top 10% most cited in each one of all 27 disciplines of the full database. The data are for the five-year period: 2019-2023. This weighs 40%.
